Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein welcomed today, Sunday, November 13, 2022, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iraq, Mr. Tsiwi Wi
The Minister stressed that Iraq is interested in strengthening coordination and cooperation frameworks with Beijing at all levels, and that China is an important country for the Iraqi oil market, noting the need to increase the volume of investments in the fields of energy and infrastructure.
The minister stressed that the government stresses the importance of distinguished cooperation and continuous coordination in various fields and at all levels.
They also discussed regional issues of common interest, the overall developments in the Middle East, and Iraq’s vision of a solution mechanism and an end to the crises afflicting the region.
The two sides discussed the Arab-Chinese summit to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the full preparation for this summit, stressing Iraq’s participation in it.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador conveyed the greetings of the Chinese Foreign Minister to the Minister, congratulating him on the formation of the new government, and the renewal of confidence in him as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, stressing the continuity of work in the framework agreement between Iraq and China and China’s support for the new government.
In conclusion, the Minister extended his thanks and appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for the Chinese aid to be provided to Basra Governorate.
