Ministry of Foreign Affairs Meets Member of the National Security Council and the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fuad Hussein, has met Mr Brett McGurk, member of the National Security Council and White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, which is being held in New York.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America, especially the military and security relations, and the mechanism for implementing the steps that were adopted during the strategic dialogue session. They also discussed the regional situation, the current developments in the region, and Iraq’s relations with the countries of the region.
The Minister emphasized that Iraq, through its pivotal role, seeks to be a factor and a source of stability, de-escalation and mediation to resolve differences between some countries in the region.
On his part, Mr Brett McGurk expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by Iraq in enhancing peace and stability in the region.
