Minister of Foreign Affairs Affirms the Importance of Focusing on Sources of Soft Power in diplomacy

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Fuad Hussein, has affirmed the importance of focusing on the sources of soft power in diplomacy, as it is the way to realise the interests of Iraq and its foreign policy. This came in a speech during his meeting with diplomatic staff who are posted to work in Iraq’s missions abroad.

He added “the diplomat represents the state with all its weight and cultural heritage, in addition to his representation of the Iraqi society, and there is a need to develop capabilities and continually to be given knowledge to advance the level of representation as well as professional briefing”.
