The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Rome Meets with Chairman of Italian-Iraqi Friendship Committee

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Rome Mrs. Safia Taleb Al-Suhail visited the Italian Chamber of Deputies and met with the head of the Italian-Iraqi Friendship Committee,Deputy Osvaldo Napoli.

The Ambassador listened to a brief presentation by Mr. Napoli on the nature of the committee, its composition, and its members who represent the Italian political spectrum from the Italian political parties, which are 9 members from the two chambers of the National Assembly.

The Ambassador thanked the Chairman of the Friendship Committee, and expressed her keen interest in coordination and cooperation to strengthen the relations between their committee and the counterpart committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives inviting them to visit Iraq.

Mrs. Safia also praised Italy’s stances in support of Iraq, its stability, and its permanent solidarity, as well as its keen interest in promoting and activating popular parliamentary diplomacy as a framework for strengthening ties between countries and peoples.

The two sides agreed to hold a meeting at the Iraqi embassy building in Rome, followed by an expanded meeting in the parliament building to put an action plan for the next stage, including visiting Iraq
