The Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Brussels Receives Chairman of Iraqi-Belgian Friendship Committee in Belgian Parliament

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Brussels Mr. Sadeq Al-Rikabi, received the Belgian Member of Parliament and the head of the Iraqi-Belgian Friendship Committee Mr. George Dilmani, and the journalist Christoph Lamphius from La Libre.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance cooperation between Baghdad and Brussels, especially in the security, political, and economic fields, in a way that contributes to enhancing cooperation and serves the common interests of both sides.

Regional developments were discussed in addition to the challenges facing Iraq after the victory over the terrorist groups, and the necessity of the two countries to continue their efforts to confront extremist ideology after it became a global threat.

They also discussed the importance of European support for the advancement of Iraq’s economy through the development of the private sector, and the investment that contributes to creating job opportunities for an important segment of the Iraqi people.

They also touched on the prospects for scientific cooperation between the two countries by activating exchange between Iraqi and Belgian universities, which establishes a practical ground in the fields of scientific cooperation, and to benefit from the distinguished Belgian experiences in developing the health aspect in Iraq.
