Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Russia Meets Special Envoy of Russian President to Middle East and North Africa

Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Russia Mr. Haidar Mansour Hadi Al-Athari met with Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Envoy of the Russian President to the Middle East and North Africa

The talks during the meeting dealt with means of developing bilateral relations and prospects for enhancing cooperation between Baghdad and Moscow.

Ambassador Al-Athari stressed that the mutual visits between the two countries have contributed to raising bilateral relations to the good levels of the historical relations between Iraq and Russia.

Ambassador Al-Athari reviewed the latest developments in Iraq, and the government’s efforts to meet the demands of the demonstrators.

Mr. Bogdanov stressed that the Russian government is following with great interest all developments in Iraq, and seeks to provide all necessary assistance from the historical friendship that links Russia with Iraq, adding that Russia will work hard to increase economic cooperation with Iraq in all sectors.

Ambassador Al-Athari’s visit comes within the framework of ending his tenure as Ambassador of Iraq to the Russian Federation.
