Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Brussels Receives Chairman of Group of Experts on Middle East Issues in European Union Council

 The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Brussels, Mr. Sadiq Al-Rikabi, received at the Embassy, ​​the Chairman of the Expert Group on Middle East Issues in the Council of the European Union, Mr. Roberto Storaci.

 The latter briefed on his work as chairman of the expert group on Middle East issues and their role in creating the issues discussed at the ministerial level in the EU Council, pointing out that Iraq is currently seen as an important partner of the European Union and is clearly supported by all member states in the EU.  The Union has invited the Ambassador to attend the meetings of the mentioned group at the headquarters of the European Union for the purpose of discussing ways to develop relations between Iraq and the European Union and clarify Iraq’s view on the political situation in the region.

  On his part, Ambassador Al-Rikabi thanked Mr. Storaci  for the information provided and for his invitation to attend the meetings of the group stressing that Iraq is continuing to develop the relation  with the European Union through activating the partnership and cooperation agreement between the parties and continuous positive communication with all the institutions of the European Union and its counterparts in Iraq.
