Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Committee for Sovereign Guarantees to Discuss Enhancing Iraq’s Credit Rating

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein met with the Chairman of the Sovereign Guarantees Committee and Prime Minister Advisor Mr. Mohammed Al Daraji, with the attendance of the committee’s members on 22 December 2024.

During the meeting the Chairman of the Committee provided a detailed description of the committee’s duties, and its importance in improving Iraq’s credit rating in accordance with the international standards adopted in this field.

They emphasized the importance of the Foreign Ministry role in facilitating the work of the committee and supporting its efforts to achieve its goals. In this context, the Minister directed to provide all necessary facilities for the committee, whether through the relevant departments of the ministry or through the Ministry’s missions abroad. As well the Minister gave instruction to form a specialized team from the Foreign Ministry to coordinate with the committee, in a way that contributes to achieving the public interest.
