Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hold a Phone Call with Cypriot Counterpart to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Developments in Syria
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein held a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Dr. Constantinos Kombos, on 12 December 2024.
The call discussed the recent developments in Syria, given the geographical importance of Cyprus and its proximity to Syria, and the impact of this on regional security, in addition to the role of Cyprus as a member of the European Union.
As well the two sides reviewed the security and political challenges associated with the Syrian situation, while assessing its future repercussions and discussing ways to deal with it.
Both ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Iraq and Cyprus, affirming the importance of advancing relations to greater prospects.
Additionally they discussed the details of the future visit of the Cypriot Foreign Minister to Iraq, which will contribute to supporting and consolidating relations between the two countries.
