League of Arab States Library Presents Mosul University Library with more than 3,000 Books
The Library of the League of Arab States donated more than 3000 books to the library of the University of Mosul, in a ceremony held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States, on 16/10/2019, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit and the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and its representative to the League of Arab States Dr Ahmed Nayef Al Dulaimi.
The donation included a number of encyclopedias and references in the disciplines of political science, economics, law, science, medicine, engineering, history and literary fields.
The Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, stated that the library of the University of Mosul passed a great tragedy because of the destruction of its contents by terrorist groups, pointing out that this gift will be part of the revival of life, pointing out that Iraq is regaining strength today.
On his part, the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo and its representative to the League of Arab States, Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi thanked the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the Library of the League for presenting the books to the library of Mosul University, and mentioned the crime suffered by the destruction of its contents of one million books and printed tens of thousands of manuscripts as well as rare books dating back to the early eighteenth century and five thousand books dating back to the founding of the Iraqi state in 1921.
