Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participates in U.S. National Day Celebration in Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated in the U.S. National Day celebration held by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, on Thursday, December 5, 2024. 

In his speech at the event, Minister Hussein congratulated the Government and people of the United States of America on this occasion, and commended the deep bilateral ties between Iraq and the United States, specifically noting the activation of the 2008 Strategic Framework Agreement, in addition the Minister affirmed the importance of high-level collaboration and coordination between the two countries especially in the area of combating terrorism and defeating Da’esh terrorist organization, as he expressed Iraq’s appreciation for the joint sacrifices in this regard.

Minister Hussein expressed his aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations to achieve common interests, as well he underlined the importance of building strong economic partnerships between the two countries, affirming that relations must not be confined to military and security aspects only.

At the end of his speech, the Minister thanked Her Excellency the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ms. Alina L. Romanowski, for her distinguished efforts in strengthening and advancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
