Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Meets Japanese Ambassador to Mark End of his Tenure

Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Bilateral Relations Mr. Mohammed Hussein Bahr Aloolum received the Japanese Ambassador Mr. Futoshi Matsumoto, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad, on the occasion of the end of his tenure, on 18 November 2024.

The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between Iraq and Japan and the importance of enhancing joint cooperation across various fields. Undersecretary Bahr Aloolum extended his thanks to Ambassador Matsumoto for the efforts he exerted during his tenure in Baghdad, wishing him continued success in his future missions.

On his part, the Japanese Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry for its support and contribution to the success of his task, through the provided facilities to the Japanese diplomatic mission. He also expressed his deep admiration for Iraqi history and civilization, affirming his keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries to serve common interests.
