Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires in Belgrade Meets State Secretary for Political Relations at Serbian Foreign Ministry
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Belgrade Minister Plenipotentiary Mayada Abdullah Yassin met with State Secretary for Political Relations at the Serbian Foreign Ministry Mr. Damjan Jovic, at the headquarters of the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
The meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various fields, and further develop relations to the highest levels, including the economy, trade, culture, education, agriculture, environmental protection and clean energy sectors’, additionally cooperate in the political field.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments related to draft agreements and memorandums of understanding submitted by the Iraqi side to the relevant Serbian ministries.
State Secretary Jovic stressed the importance of this meeting in bringing perspectives closer together and strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and the Republic of Serbia, indicating his readiness to follow up on all topics presented to achieve productive cooperation between the two countries. He also affirmed the importance of Iraq’s participation in EXPO 2027, which will be hosted by the Republic of Serbia in May 2027.
At the end of the meeting the Chargé d’Affaires, extended her thanks for organizing this meeting, emphasizing the importance of continuing meetings between the two sides to enhance joint cooperation.
