Foreign Ministry Participates in Repatriation of 64 Children of Uzbek Citizenship
The Foreign Ministry together with the Higher Judicial Council and the Ministry of Justice, and the security services, in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Justice Portal, participated in the repatriation of 64 children of Uzbek citizenship and handed them over to the Uzbek authorities.
The government has already handed over children of Da’esh parentage and with the completion of this deportation; the number of Da’esh children deported from Iraq is 537.
In this regard, the Foreign Ministry calls on all States with child nationals affiliated with Da’esh terrorist group placed in the custody of the Iraqi Correctional Service, as well as juveniles whose sentences have expired, to coordinate with Iraq through diplomatic channels for their extradition.
