Head of Arab Department Receives Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq
The Head of the Arab Department Osama Mahdi Ghanem, received the new Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq Maher Tarawneh, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Monday October 14, 2024.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop them to serve common interests. The meeting also discussed regional and international situations and developments of common concern, with a focus on the seriousness of the current crisis in the occupied Palestinian territories and Lebanon.
The Head of Arab Department stressed the Iraqi government’s keenness to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon in light of the difficult circumstances suffered by the brotherly Lebanese people.
On his part Ambassador Tarawneh, affirmed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Iraq across various fields, reflecting the depth of historical ties between the two countries. He expressed his appreciation for the Iraqi efforts in supporting Arab issues, especially in light of the challenges facing the region, underlining Jordan’s readiness to enhance joint coordination to serve mutual interests and contribute to achieving regional stability.
