Deputy Head of Department of International Organizations and Conferences Meets Deputy Head of Russian Embassy in Baghdad

The Deputy Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences Dr. Ali Hilal met with Deputy Head of the Russian Federation Mission in Baghdad, Mr. Maxim at the Ministry headquarters.

The two sides discussed ways of joint coordination between the two countries for the meetings of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Russian side thanked Iraq for its support for the nomination of the Russian Federation in the elections of the International Civil Aviation Organization Council that was held in Montreal last September.

On his part, the deputy head of the department welcomed the guest delegation, pointing to the success of the recent visit of Russian Foreign Minister Mr. Sergey Lavrov to Baghdad and stressed the importance of Russia’s pivotal role in supporting Iraq in combating terrorism and the reconstruction of liberated areas.
