Statement

Under the directives and supervision of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, the Foreign Ministry and through a formed crisis cell continues to follow up periodically and daily with the Iraqi Embassies in Beirut and Damascus to ensure the safety of Iraqi citizens from the community and displaced persons in conflict areas, and to provide them with basic services. The Ministry also stresses the importance of the safety of the diplomatic staff who work tirelessly to provide the necessary care and services to visitors. The Foreign Minister contacted the chargés d’affaires and consuls in the relevant Missions, and he commended the services they provided and the efforts of the staff under these difficult circumstances. As well as he reiterated the Ministry’s continued keenness on the safety of employees and members of the community, and its full readiness to facilitate tasks and provide the necessary support.
