Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participates in Ministerial Meeting of Ancient Civilizations Forum

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Ancient Civilizations Forum held on September 25, 2024, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During his speech at the forum, Minister Hussein stressed the pivotal role that ancient civilizations can play in inspiring today’s generation to face and resolve current challenges and crises, in addition maintaining the stability of the multilateral international system. The Minister also underlined the importance of protecting the world’s cultural heritage from illicit trafficking and returning artifacts to their countries of origin.

It is worth noting that the Forum of Ancient Civilizations membership includes Iraq, Armenia, Bolivia, China, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Mexico and Peru.
