Chargé d’Affaires of Iraqi Embassy to Morocco Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with Director General of ICESCO
The Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy to the Kingdom of Morocco Dr. Botan Dizayee met with Dr. Salim M. Almalik Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between Iraq and ICESCO in the fields of education, science and culture. During the meeting which was held at ICESCO headquarters in Rabat Dr. Dizayee extended his thanks and appreciation to the Organization and its Director General for donating a collection of its publications to the library of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, as well for the fruitful cooperation with Iraqi authorities in the cultural, scientific and educational fields.
On his part Director General Al Malik stressed ICESCO’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in areas of common interest, and called for Iraq’s participation in the conferences and activities of the organization in line with its foresighted vision and strategic orientations.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdelilah Benarafa ICESCO’s Deputy Director General
Additionally, the meeting discussed the current cooperation programmes and projects between ISESCO and Iraq, in addition to proposing proposals for future programs and projects, especially in the cultural field. At the end of the meeting Director General Al Malik handed over certificates of registration for several historical sites and Iraqi cultural items within the lists of heritage in the Islamic world.
