Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs to Discuss Enhancing Military and Security Cooperation
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, on Monday, September 16, 2024.
The meeting touched on several topics of common concern, within the framework of military cooperation, and exchange of expertise between the armed forces of both countries.
His Excellency Minister Fuad Hussein stressed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen collaboration and partnership across various military fields.
Additionally, the two sides welcomed the holding of the six plus two meeting in New York between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Iraq and Iran, to discuss developing security relations between the countries bordering the Gulf.
During the meeting they discussed regional and international situations, as well as developments in the Palestinian crisis and the war on the Gaza Strip, and violations against Palestinian people.
On his part His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq commended Iraq’s active role in its regional and international surroundings, and its efforts to achieve security and stability in the Middle East.
