Iraq’s Permanent Representative Participates in General Assembly Meeting of International Renewable Energy Agency

Iraq’s Permanent Representative to the International Renewable Energy Agency Ambassador Modhafar Mustafa Al Jubouri, who is currently occupying the position of Vice-President of the General Assembly representing the Asia-Pacific region, participated in the second virtual meeting of the General Assembly, which was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Jimmy Jasore, Minister of Infrastructure of Rwanda, and with the participation of Vice-Presidents of (Angola, Dominican Republic, and Georgia), to discuss consultations and proposals related to the appointment of the President of the 15th IRENA Assembly and his four deputies for 2025.

In his speech, the Permanent Representative stressed the importance of reaching a consensus on the appointment of the President of the fifteenth session, and to maintain the agreed upon nominations of Vice-Presidents, unless there is a legal obligation to reconsider it. He also stressed the need to strengthen the principles of joint collective action in line with the goals of the International Agency, noting Iraq’s keenness, as a representative of the Asia-Pacific Group, to enhance cooperation and coordination with member states to achieve the goals of the International .Renewable Energy Agency
