Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Meets his Russian Counterpart in Moscow to Discusses Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues

The Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Mr. Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Bahr Al Ulum met with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Andrey Rudenko during his visit to Moscow, at the the Russian Foreign Ministry’s headquarters on August 26, 2024.

Undersecretary Bahr Al Ulum conveyed Minister Fuad Hussein thanks to the Russian Foreign Ministry for the special attention that is provided by the Russian health institutions to Iraq’s Ambassador in Moscow Haider Al Athari, who is going through a severe health crisis.

The meeting also highlighted the depth of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, as they will soon celebrate the eightieth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between them, stressing the need to convene the Iraqi-Russian Joint Committee and proceed to develop economic and trade relations.

In addition the meeting discussed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
