Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo Meets Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population
Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Dr. Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, met with Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, at the Ministry of Health headquarters in New Alamein on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The meeting discussed several bilateral issues of mutual concern, especially in the health sector, and mechanisms for enhancing cooperation to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two sides touched on the possibility of treating some difficult cases of Iraqi patients in Egypt, in addition to exchanging expertise in the field of combating drugs and addiction, stressing the need to activate the memorandum of understanding recently signed between the two countries.
Additionally, they discussed the tragic health situation suffered by the residents of the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli aggression. Ambassador Khalaf reviewed the efforts exerted by Iraq to support the Palestinians, affirming Iraq’s readiness to receive the wounded from the Gaza Strip and provide them with treatment in Iraqi hospitals.
