Iraqi Ambassador in Stockholm Meets Assistant Director of the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Stockholm Mr. Ahmed Al-Kamali met with Mr. Simon Boslok Assistant Director of the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority on 3/10/2019 in the building of the Swedish Aviation Authority.

The Ambassador discussed the issue of lifting the ban on Iraqi Airways aircrafts and reopening the direct air route between Iraq and the Kingdom of Sweden, pointing out the importance of reopening the air route to alleviate the suffering of the Iraqi community while traveling between the two countries and stated that Foreign Minister Mr.  Mohamad A. Alhakim discussed this subject with his Swedish counterpart during his visit to Sweden last May, pointing out that there are many requests received by the embassy from the community in this regard.

 On his part, Mr. Simon Boslok expressed that there is a real desire to resume flights between the two countries because of the great economic benefits to the two countries, the ambassador expressed the full readiness of the embassy and the Iraqi authorities concerned to work and cooperate with Sweden to lift the ban.
