Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Chairs Ministerial Council for Economy 21st Session
On Monday, July 15, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Economy Mr. Fuad Hussein, chaired the 21st regular Session of the Ministerial Council for Economy, The Meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, the Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Trade, Industry, Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Chairman of the Securities Commission, and Oil Ministry Undersecretary, Prime Minister’s advisors for Economic and Legal Affairs. The Council discussed the topics on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions regarding them.
The Council agreed to cancel the decision of withdrawing and granting the work assigned to the company executing Al Husseiniyah Concrete Bridge project in Wasit Governorate a full suspension period until the conflicts are removed by the governorate.
The Council also recommended that the Council of Ministers agree reinstating granting national products a preferential price advantage over their imported counterparts for the purpose of encouraging coverage of their needs from local production at no less than 20% of the imported price.
The Council also approved an increase in the total cost for addressing electricity network congestion project in northern region.
The Council also agreed to cancel the decisions of withdrawing two contracts to supply specialized equipment for an asphalt plant and its accessories for Al Muthanna municipality and the of Al Rumaitha municipality
