Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Participates in High level Meeting of NATO Summit
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, participated in the high level meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit in Washington, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. The meeting was attended by several Heads of state and foreign ministers of NATO member countries.
On the sidelines of the meeting, and in side conversations, Minister Fuad Hussein exchanged views on regional and international developments, and bilateral relations between Iraq and the and the relevant countries, with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström, and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al Yahya.
On this occasion US President Joe Biden delivered a speech in the hall that witnessed NATO’s founding from 12 countries in 1949, NATO Secretary General also delivered a speech commending the achievements of the Alliance and spoke of the most prominent future challenges facing the Alliance countries.
