Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Secretary General of League of Arab States in Manama
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, on the sidelines of the foreign ministers’ preparatory meeting for the Council of the Arab League at the 33rd Arab Summit, which is being held in Bahrain.
At the begining of the meeting, the Secretary General offered his deepest condolences to His Excellency Minister Hussein over the passing of his wife.
Minister Fuad Hussein, stressed that the 34th Arab Summit will be held in Baghdad, which will reflect positively on Iraq’s relations with its Arab brothers.
In addition both sides discussed Iraq hosting the Arab Summit in its 34th Session, 2025. His Excellency also expressed the Iraqi government’s readiness to host the Arab summit, welcoming the Arab brothers to their second country Iraq, indicating that there will be coordination with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and cooperation regarding the logistical matters for the hosting.
On his part, the Secretary General expressed his readiness to cooperate and provide support to the Iraqi government for the success of the 34th summit which will be held in Iraq, praising the prevailing security stability in Iraq.
