Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Canada’s Minister of International Development

On Tuesday, March 19 2024, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with Canadian Minister of International Development Mr. Ahmed Hussen, at his office in Ottawa, within the framework of his visit to Canada.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples, in addition to developing the energy, gas, agriculture, mining, tourism and climate change sectors, by benefiting from Canadian expertise in those sectors.

The Minister extended his thanks for Canada’s stance in support of Iraq, while at the same time expressing his gratitude for the Canadian government’s for re-providing support to UNRWA.

HE Minister Hussein stressed the importance of Canadian companies accessing the Iraqi market in light of the prevailing security stability, as well as being a fertile environment for investment and sustainable development.
