Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Discusses with Canadian Chair of Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ways to Enhance Cooperation

On Monday, March 19, 2024 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, met with the Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Mr. Peter M. Boehm, at his office in Ottawa, as part of his official visit to Canada.

The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them between Baghdad and Ottawa, in addition to reviewing the latest regional and international developments in the region, they also stressed the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits between the two countries and exchanging experiences to benefit from the longstanding experience of the federal system in Canada.

On his part, Mr. Boehm welcomed the Minister, stressing his country’s keenness to support the Iraqi government and develop relations between the two countries in all fields.
