Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Meets Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met on Saturday, February 17, 2024, with the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions Ms. Hadja Lahbib, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference 2024, which is being held in Munich, Germany from 16 to 18 February.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and several mutual and international issues. Minister Lahbib extended her congratulations to the Iraqi government on the success of the recent elections, expressing Belgium’s firm stance in supporting Iraq. Regarding the war on Gaza, the two parties stressed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire, accelerating the delivering of humanitarian aid, and rejecting the attempts to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip
