Iraq’s Representative to United Nations Meets Regional Director of UNICEF

The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of Iraq’s Permanent mission to the United Nations in New York Dr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid met with Ms. Adele Khodr Regional director of UNICEF office in the Middle East and North Africa. The Chargé d’Affaires, highlighted the close partnership between Iraq’s national institutions and UNICEF, praising their exerted efforts in the childhood and youth sector in Iraq, as well as contributing in supporting the efforts made by the Government in upholding childhood and youth programmes.

On her part, Ms. Khodr praised the efforts of Iraq’s Government in implementing programmes supporting childhood, especially in the education and health sectors, in addition to the efforts of the Iraqi government in finding sustainable solutions to the issue of displaced people, including children, expressing at the same time her aspiration to expand the horizons of partnership between the Government of Iraq and UNICEF in the field of services.
