Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Receives Chinese Ambassador to Iraq

Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations Ambassador Muhammed Hussein Muhammed Bahr AlUlum, received the Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Mr. Cui Wei, at the Ministry’s headquarter in Baghdad, the meeting was attended by the Head of Asia and Australia Department Mr. Hamed Aljubouri.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance them, cooperation on issues of common interest and preparations for the upcoming visit of the Undersecretary to China for holding the forth round of the political consultations between Iraq and China, in addition to the importance of holding the sessions of joint committee during the current year.

Undersecretary Bahr AlUloom underscored the importance of China’s role in Calming the current crisis in the Gaza Strip, by urging the international community to prevent the expansion of war.

At the end of the meeting the Undersecretary stressed on Iraq’s firm stance in support of the unity and sovereignty of the people’s Republic of China over all its territory.

On his side, the Chinese Ambassador extended his thanks for the support provided by Foreign Ministry to the Chinese embassy in Baghdad, emphasizing on the necessity of continued cooperation between both sides to achieve shared interest.
