Deputy Prime Ministers and Foreign Minister Meets South Africa’s Minister of Finance

Deputy Prime Ministers and Foreign Minister Mr. Fuad Hussein, met with South Africa’s Minister for Finance Mr. Enoch Godongwana, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations, ways to strengthen them, especially in the fields of economy and trade, the Minister indicated Iraq’s willingness to expand the horizons of cooperation between the two friendly countries. In addition to praising the measures taken by South Africa, by filing a lawsuit at the International Court of Justice, against the genocides committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip against Palestinians, in this regard Minister Hussein stressed the Iraqi Government’s support for South Africa’s decision.

Minister Hussein extended an invitation to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance of South Africa, to visit Iraq.

On his part, Mr. Godongwana affirmed his country’s supporting position for the Palestinian cause, rejecting the violation against Palestinian in the Gaza Strip, calling on the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to visit South Africa.
