Foreign Minister Meets Head of Tunisian Interim Government
Foreign Minister Mr. Mohamad A. Alhakim met with the Prime Minister of Tunisia, Mr. Kamal Morjane, on 12/9/2019, at the Kasbah Palace in Tunis. Following the exchange of greetings, the Minister extended his condolences to the Tunisian Prime Minister and conveyed to him the condolences of President Barham Saleh and Prime Minister Dr. Adel Abdel Mahdi on the passing away of the late President of the Republic of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi wishing Tunisia success in its preparations for the upcoming presidential and legislative elections in a way that enhances the Tunisian democratic model.
The Minister reviewed the prospects of bilateral cooperation and the areas dealt with in the meetings of the Iraqi-Tunisian Joint Committee, which resulted in the signing of a number of memorandums of understanding between the two countries. The Minister also explained to the Tunisian Prime Minister Iraq’s view on the challenges facing the region.
On his part, the Tunisian Prime Minister praised the depth of historical Iraqi-Tunisian relations, praising the efforts exerted in the Iraqi-Tunisian committee which opened new prospects for bilateral cooperation , stating that Tunisia looks forward to enhancing trade, economic and cultural relations in all fields. Prime Minister conveyed his greetings to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and all Iraqi officials.
