Acting Head of International Organizations and Conferences Department Meets with Greek Ambassador to Baghdad

Acting Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences,   Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Rahman Farhan Al-Amiri met with Greek Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Mr. Leonidas Contofoniosat the Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, they discussed historical bilateral relations between Iraq and Greece and ways of developing them in the political, cultural and economic fields and exchanging experiences.

They discussed the Greek proposal on the effects of climate change on cultural and natural heritage presented to the UN Climate Summit in New York on September 23, 2019. The Head of the Organizations Department expressed Iraq’s initial support for this proposal as it is in line with Iraq’s orientations in preserving its cultural heritage.

At the end of the meeting, the Greek ambassador appreciated Iraq’s positions in international forums and the two countries’ mutual agreement on various issues.
