Ambassador of Republic of Iraq in Stockholm Meets the Swedish Minister of Defense

   The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Stockholm Mr. Ahmad Al-Kamaly met with the Swedish Minister of Defense, Mr. Peter Hultqvist, at the Swedish Ministry of Defense upon the request of the Embassy to discuss ways of enhancing joint cooperation in the military fields between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Defense pointed to the importance of relations with Iraq, pointing out that Sweden is proud to be part of the international coalition to fight terrorism in Iraq, praising the friendly relations between the two countries at various levels, stressing Sweden’s support to Iraq in the field of humanitarian support and participation with the international coalition to defeat terrorism, prevent the return of Da’esh terrorist groups and rebuild communities in the liberated areas.

On his part, the Ambassador thanked the Kingdom of Sweden for its support to Iraq and the support provided by the Swedish military mission to the Iraqi security forces, stressing the expanding of joint cooperation in the field of security and military.
