Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Omar Al-Barzanchi Meets Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq
On Sunday, 30/10/2022, the Undersecretary for Administrative, Technical and Legal Affairs, Mr Omar Al-Barzanchi, met the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Dr Muntasir Al-Zou’bi, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The Undersecretary touched on the historic brotherly relations between the two countries, confirming that the security of Iraq is the security of Jordan, and vice versa, and it is in the interest of the two countries to maintain common security, and work together to protect our society from the intrusive, destructive ideas that are far from the values of the Islamic Religion.
His Excellency also referred to the Arab and Islamic ties with neighboring countries and the countries of the world, recalling the need to enhance the common interests between countries being the basis on which relations are built to secure a safe and dignified living instead of wars.
On his part, the Jordanian ambassador congratulated Mr Al-Barzanchi for assuming his position as Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He expressed his hope to continue supporting the relations in all fields that had made great strides in many areas of bilateral cooperation, commending the active Iraqi role in enhancing the Iraqi-Arab relations, where Jordan considers Iraq as the backbone for the Arab countries.
Ambassador Al-Zoubi also congratulated Mr Omar Al-Barzanchi for the formation of the Iraqi government and the election of the President of the Republic. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in particular the Arab and Protocol Departments, for their diligent work and fruitful cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in Baghdad.
The Jordan’ Desk Officer in the Department of Arab Affairs, Counsellor Uday Hatem has attended the meeting.
