Foreign Ministry Delivers a Collection of Kuwaiti Archives

The Foreign Ministry represented by the Iraqi delegation headed by Ambassador Hazem Al-Youssifi , Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Multilateral Relations / Chairman of the Kuwaiti Archives Committee, handed over a collection of archives since 1990 to the Kuwaiti side.
The archives included 42,000 books belonging to the Kuwait University and the National Library, and were transported by four Iraqi Air Force military aircraft on 27 and 28 August 2019 at the Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute.
Mr. Al-Youssifi affirmed the Iraqi government’s determination to eliminate all traces of the Saddam invasion and to exert maximum efforts to hand over the rest of the books before the end of this year in compliance with UN Security Council resolutions, the most recent, resolution 2107 of 2013.
