Undersecretary Al-Barzanchi Receives the political advisor at the US Embassy in Iraq

On Wednesday, 14/09/2022, the Undersecretary for Administrative, Technical and Legal Affairs, Mr Omar Al-Barzanchi, received the Political Adviser at the United States Embassy in Iraq, Ms Cynthia Plath, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

 At the beginning of the meeting, Ms Plath congratulated Mr Al-Barzanji on his assumption of the new position as Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The two sides discussed ways of cooperation in implementing the Strategic Framework Agreement between the Republic of Iraq and the United States, especially in the field of human rights, education, and cultural areas, in addition to finding mechanisms to enhance the bilateral cooperation and partnership between the two Foreign Service Institutes in the foreign ministries of the two countries.

The Undersecretary also briefly reviewed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the depth of the partnership relationship, the developments of its files, and setting priorities in the interest of the peoples of the two countries.

From the Iraqi side, Assistant Head of the Department of North and South America and the Caribbean, Mr Yarub Al-Anbaki, and from the American side, desk officer of human rights and democracy at the US Embassy in Iraq, Mr Ben Wittorsh have attended the meeting.
