Undersecretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Receives Indian Ambassador to Iraq
On 8/9/2022, the Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Safiya Talib Al-Suhail, received the Indian Ambassador, Mr Prashant Bisai, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between Baghdad and New Delhi, as the Undersecretary pointed out that Iraq looks forward to working with India towards further cooperation and joint coordination in international forums, confirming the ministry’s readiness to provide all facilities to Indian investment companies in Iraq and the cultural activities, expressing her appreciation of the efforts exerted by the Indian Embassy to provide more scholarships for Iraqi students.
On his part, the Indian ambassador expressed delight at the level of the growing bilateral relations between the two countries, especially that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Iraqi-Indian relations, noting that the large trade volume and mutual visits between the citizens of the two countries, especially the pilgrims of the holy shrines in Iraq and the Iraqi students studying in India, has contributed to extending the horizons of mutual cultural openness.
