Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Receives Head of Sabean Mandean to Discuss Third Meeting of the Higher Committee for Interfaith Dialogue
Undersecretary for Administrative, Technical and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Omar Al-Barzanji, has received at the Ministry’s headquarters, the head of the Sabean Mandaean sect in Iraq and the world, His eminence Sheikh Sattar Jabbar Hilou, and his accompanying delegation.
The gracious guests congratulated Mr Al-Barzanji on the occasion of his assumption of the new post as Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, wishing him success in the service of Iraq and its gracious people with its various components and sects.
They discussed the third meeting of the Higher Committee for Interfaith Dialogue between Iraq and the Vatican to be held at the end of October of this year in Baghdad. The Undersecretary affirmed that he had been keen during his tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Holy See in the Vatican City (2017-2019) to hold the second meeting of the Higher Permanent Dialogue Committee between the three Iraqi endowments and the Pontifical Council for Interfaith Dialogue, given the significant importance of this committee, as it is regarded the second committee that the Vatican was keen to establish it after the Dialogue Committee held between the Vatican and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
