Head of the Department of European Affairs Discusses with Undersecretary of Ministry of Transport for Technical Affairs and lifting the air ban on Iraqi Airways

On 06/07/2022, Ambassador Safiya Talib Al-Suhail, Head of the Department of European Affairs, met Mr Talib Abdullah Bayesh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Technical Affairs, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, they exchanged views and discussed common files, including the file of lifting the air ban imposed on Iraqi airways. In this regard, Ambassador Al-Suhail affirmed the diplomatic moves undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our accredited missions to European countries in order to realise the common goal of lifting the ban imposed on Iraqi Airways to resume its flights to airports of the European capitals and cities, which in turn would contribute to reducing the burden on travellers to and from Iraq and Europe.

At the end of the meeting, the Technical Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport extended his thanks and gratitude for the cooperation and efforts exerted to lift the ban in the near future.
