Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Multilateral Relations Offers Condolences on the Passing of Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe
On behalf of Foreign Minister Mr Fuad Hussein, the Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Multilateral Relations Dr Qahtan Taha Khalaf, has offered his condolences to the friendly government and people of Japan on the passing of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, at the headquarters of the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad.
The Undersecretary commended the values of tolerance and rejection of violence and hatred that had distinguished Japan, recalling the upgrading of relations between the two friendly countries during the late Shinzo Abe’s tenure as prime minister of Japan.
The Undersecretary valued Japan’s supporting stances for Iraq in consolidating the principles of democracy and enhancing cooperation in various fields, as well as the distinct role and noble positions played by the late Prime Minister in supporting Iraq after 2003, as well as supporting the humanitarian file in areas liberated from ISIS after 2017.
The Undersecretary was accompanied by Counsellor Rahman Loa’an, Assistant Head of the Department of Asia and Australia.
