Head of the Department of Human Rights meets the President of the Supreme Judicial Council

Head of the Department of Human Rights, Dr Husham Al-Alawy met the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, His Excellency Judge Faiq Zaydan in his office on April 11, 2022.

During the meeting, they discussed a set of topics regarding Human Rights including cases of enforced disappearance; work to close these cases; mechanisms of harmony of the national legislations with international agreements accessed by Iraq.

For his part, the Judge commended the pioneering role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to reflect Iraq’s positive image towards the international community. He has expressed the complete readiness of the Supreme Judicial Council to cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Counsellor Firas Hasan Jabbar and Second Secretary Muhammed Qatran Raheem have attended this meeting.
