Minister of Foreign Affairs Discusses with Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Means to form the Future government

On 24/05/2022, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed with the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Mr Salah El-Din Muhammad Bahaa El-Din and his accompanying delegation, the efforts to form the Iraqi future government.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments, problems and obstacles of the political process, future steps, efforts and talks of the Iraqi forces and parties to elect the President of the Republic and the formation of the new Iraqi government.

The two sides affirmed the importance of protecting the political process, political stability and resolving problems and obstacles through dialogue, expressing their hope that the common understanding would bring the Iraqi parties and components together.

On his part, the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union referred to the need to continue dialogues between the political forces in order to find a way out of the current crisis, confirming the need for the proposed resolutions to be in harmony with the constitution.
