Assistant Head of the Department of Europe Meets the Chargé d’Affaires of Ukrainian Embassy in Baghdad

On 10/5/2022, Assistant Head of the Department of Europe, Counsellor Muthana Ali Hussein, met Chargé d’Affaires of the Ukrainian Embassy in Baghdad, Mr Alexander Buravzhnikov. During the meeting, they discussed the developments of the current crisis between Russia and Ukraine and the developments of the security situation in some Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kiev.

The two sides also exchanged views on finding means to develop the bilateral relations between the two countries in the economic, commercial and agricultural areas, exchanging visits between officials and opening prospects for cooperation through resumption of the parliamentary relations between the two countries.

Assistant Head of the Department confirmed that Iraq stresses the need to find a peaceful resolution to the current crisis, avoid escalation, resort to negotiations, and continue the dialogue between the parties to the conflict to end the crisis.
