Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets His Spanish Counterpart in Marrakesh

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein has met the Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS, which is being held in Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco.

During the meeting, they exchanged the common views on the bilateral relations and the current situation in the region. The Minister stated that there are many commonalities between Iraq and Spain, confirming the importance of benefiting from the Spanish expertise in the field of industry and agriculture, exchanging experiences on various sectors, enhancing trade exchange and investment, and support of Iraqi and Spanish companies for joint investment. He also affirmed the need to continue bilateral meetings to enhance cooperation with Spain hold bilateral memoranda of understanding in relevant areas and implement the joint Iraqi-Spanish committee.

On his part, Minister José Manuel Albares confirmed the importance of enhancing the bilateral relations, joint coordination, and Spain’s readiness to support Iraq and make progress in all fields.
