Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Serbia Meets Serbian Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management

Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Serbia, Haidar Rashid Sawadi, has met Mr Senad Mahmutovic, Undersecretary of the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.

This meeting came as a continuation of the meetings between the Embassy and the Ministry of Agriculture in the framework of benefiting from the Serbian capabilities in the development of agriculture, animal production and water management in Iraq. Several topics were discussed, the most important of which was the visit of Iraqi Minister of Agriculture to Belgrade to open the International Agricultural Exhibition to be held in Belgrade on 12/05/2022, which will be an opportunity to update the Iraqi side on the development that Serbia witnesses in this field and the possibility of exchanging agricultural experiences and modernizing Iraqi agricultural mechanization and livestock.

They also discussed the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, which cast a shadow over the prices of food and agricultural commodities, primarily the wheat crop and the possibility of importing wheat from Serbia.

Counsellor Ahmed Abdel Moneim Ahmed has attended the meeting.
