Press Statement

As part of the Foreign Ministry’s attempt along with and the Ministries of Defense and Health to end the file of Kuwaiti prisoners and missing persons, and with the participation of the Red Cross Mission in Baghdad, the ceremony of handing over the remains of 46 missing persons that the relevant technical team was able to find in Muthanna province on 6/6/2019 and after the results of genetic analysis it found that these remains belong to the Kuwaiti missing persons.
In this context, Iraq affirms that it will do its utmost efforts to determine the fate of the other missing persons.
We are grateful for the great efforts made by the Red Cross Mission in Baghdad since 1991, which has had a major impact on the progress of this humanitarian issue.
