Head of the Department of International Organisations and Conferences Chairs the Coordination Meeting on Reviewing the Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Drugs and Crime

On 4/4/2022, Head of the Department of International Organisations and Conferences, Dr Abbas Kadhem Obaid, chaired the special meeting to review the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Organised Crime and Drugs (UNODC), with the presence of representatives of the relevant Iraqi ministries and authorities and a representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Organized Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, with the participation of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Vienna.

The meeting covered discussions on the mechanism of reviewing and presenting the national report of Iraq, in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned agreement, being a state party to it.  The roles of ministries and relevant authorities and their contributions in this regard were also discussed. The attendees have affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and meetings in order to achieve these requirements.
